rate this ball? its my new ball.. i kinda like it.. skids more strong snap.. good deal for the money.. but i would see it as really weak if its played low rev... oh yea the impact is great too..

I had a flash point, and it did not match up with my style. It was too snappy/angular. But I would not say it was a bad ball, like my fear factor  It hit extremely hard though...

TOo snappy????What are you, bob smith without the speed????
My flashpoint is early revving, but Uber-Smooth. Carries from anywhere, but I can only play it up the boards, or when the backends are strong, otherwise it doesn't pick up.
I must have a MUCH heavier idea of medium, than you guys then....In my opinion, it works great on the lighter-side of the mediums I see..

Drilling can be a key factor to get a desired (or in this case not) reaction. My flash point also hooked too much more medium (which is what I wanted it for) lane conditions.

lol i have mine drilled for length and the finger angled outwards so it slids out faster hence less revs.. and yes i have LOTS of rev lol.. and the backend here is quite clean so yea.. it snaps back really fast.. i usually play this ball in the heavier kinds of medium oil...

What the heck does that mean? Forward/away pitch in the fingers? You drill different pitches from ball to ball?

errr i started drilling my balls foward pitched since i used the flash point.. there only 1 ball i have that has a different pitch.. my starting ball.. the beast master.. i still use it.. but no.. my bowling balls have the same or at least similar pitch..

argh dammit i dropped the FP on a nail while cleaning it after bowling today.. needles too say it got scratched/dented... its pretty deep i hope the reaction is not affected by it... anyway is there antyhing i can do about it?
next, ive realised that the house i usually bowl to be oiling the lanes with more oil recently.. the techincian told me that the alley wanted to give their bowlers more of a challenge... lol anywho i was wondering whats alittle more reactive than the flashpoint.. my flashpoint just doesnt work as well for the inside lines on the new condition...
in other words whats a good ball for med-heavy oil? doesnt have to be storm.. but prefrebly since my driller specialises in storm balls... brunswick would do too... just no lane #1 since its REALLY expensive here.. haha...
i was thinking of getting the intense but the from what i read off this site it isnt as good as i think it would be... i prefer something shined... i was thinking of the eraser PBT.. whats are your thoughts?

with my flash point, i drilled it fairly weak (label lev), and I never had a snappy reaction from it, even with my medium speed, tweener+ revrate. It was always smooth, sometimes way TOO smooth for my liking.
The dimes for me came from the lack of entry angle, yours may be from excess if the backs are that clean, combined with your higher revrate.
WHere is the gouge? If it's in the track you could plug it and hope, if not, then it isn't necessary to repait unless you're trying to sell it.
You could always go throw it, blame it on the machines, and throw a fit until the center buys you a new one, but that would be wrong.
From storm...
Medium/heavy, what type of reaction are you wanting, and how much more do you need. If it's a slight smoothening and a pinch earlier read a flash force scuffed up could do it. If you need less length a depth charge, super charge, or atomic charge (available this month) should fit the bill. Other options are the Ace and the Pro Stock Solid (scuffed a bit).

well the hole is somewhere near the track lol im not exactly sure if its on the track or not.. its quite near hard to tell just by looking at it ill have to throw it and see if the track falls over it...
as for the reaction i was hoping to find something that yea reads the lanes earlier.. or just something with the same length that provides a stronger backend.. not too sure tho..

same length, more backend would be:
Recharge
Banshee
The pro stock pearl will go a stitch longer and flip much harder.
XXX Factor will be a bit earlier and more backending, as will be the atomic charge (atomic should check up earlier than the XXXfactor)
If you just want something earlier, with a similar shape, a depth charge should fit the bill best.

The banshee is going to be what the Flash Point was originally marketed as. The point came out smoother than intended, and the banshee is the correction to that smoothness (supposedly). It smells horrible. Supposed to be Pina Colada, the smell is VERY intense. the recharge is much less intense smelling.
