Sorry I have not been as active recently, I have been busy with work and other bs. but here goes the review
First off my specs...
I throw 15 pound equip
my pap is 5 3/4 over and 1 up
Normally I throw the ball around 17 mph but i can get up to around 20 if I need to.
my revrate is appx 350rpm with my normal release
Dimension:
I laid out the dimension 5 x 3. I ended up drilling the pin out of my ring finger. I had to put an x hole due to excess side. I first threw the ball to see where I wanted to put the hole. I loved the reaction and wanted to have a mininum impact on reaction drilling out the hole. So i called up storm. they had me draw several lines and pitch the bit in a direction so that the hole missed the core except at the bottem. (the hole ended up being 1 1/8 and around 3 inches deep to make it legal). ball is in box finish
I have had the chance to throw this ball on multiple house shot patterns and a couple sport shots. On the house shot the dimension had a very nice predictable reaction. Usually its the one and only ball I use during league. The ball gets plenty of length reads the mids well and has a strong move towards the pocket.
I also have used this ball on a reverse block and a flat sport shot (42' I believe).
On the reverse block I was able to play way inside with alot of ball speed and get a decent shot at the pocket. I was also able to play up the oil with slower ballspead and end over end rotation. This ball had a very predictable ball reaction. If i hit my mark i was in the 1-3. If i missed left i went brooklyn if i missed right I was was leaving washouts and splits, but that was due to operator error and not the ball (one shot I had a 2 count.... took out the 6 and 9 =P.
On the sport shot I had a nice area I could hit and manage to get to the pocket. (During practice of this tourney everybody threw snowtires between the 5 & 8 and set up the lanes nice. As long as I hit the area I was in the pocket. This ball is very predictable It never did something I did not expect it to do It never just took off or skated past the breakpoint.
Now on to the Rapid Fire Pearl
I laid out the RFP 6 inches pin to pap with the cg in the center of grip. Drilled out the pin on my middle finger. Ball is in box finish.
When I throw this ball it gets effortless length. The ball looks like its not going to do anything thing and then at the last moment it snaps. Its not a huge jump but its enough to get plenty of entry angle at the pocket. This ball is very speed sensitive. (mostly due to being a pearl but im sure the layout doesnt help either) I have had mixed results with this ball but when the heads burn up and there is not much carrydown this ball really begins to shine. I am considering hitting the ball with a 4000 pad and see how it works out then.
