Would like to try an interchangeable thumb

I've been looking into it and would like to try in interchangeable thumb but I live in a small town in Nevada called minden the pro shop here says he doesn't have the stuff to do one and the next closest one in Carson said they don't either anyone know where I might be able to go to get this done without going to Reno

Doesn't have the parts to do it?
Crazy talk.....
Interchangeable thumb more popular than not, with people that have more than 1 ball that is.
you may have to drive to get what you want

Re: Would like to try an interchangeable thumb

I don't care how big or small a shop is, if you drill balls you should at least have one of the types of interchangeable thumbs available.

Easiest these days would probably be the Ultimate Thumb. All you need is to order the inner and outer sleeves, every shop should have the 1-1/2" bit to drill the hole for the outer sleeve. It's almost a copy of the GripLoc system but with two locking tabs instead of one.

For any shop to just blow them off like they take $1000 in extra tools and are complicated to install, just blows my mind. The Vise IT system might take a number of extra tools and is far more complex, but when done right I think it's the best of the interchangeable thumbs. I've tried them all except the Ultimate one since it's fairly new. I started with the IT, then SG, then GripLoc, and back to SG.

Minden is only about an hour +/- 5 minutes from Reno, especially with the 395 freeway completed though Washoe valley. That doesn't seem like a giant inconvenience to me. But then I drive further than that to bowl some of my leagues.

Yeah but ive only had my license a month and a half so I'd rather not drive to Reno if I don't have to since I've never driven in Reno before

Ah, good point. And with the tourists from California(where we can't drive for crap), Reno can be challenging.
