Advice on a ball

I decided on doing a summer league to give me something to do at the end of the league you get an ebi international ball of your choice so anything from columbia 300 hammer track and ebonite my only thing is the only balls I've ever thrown from those are an old ebonite puma and the widow spare although I did pick up a used scandal pearl a couple weeks ago and like it and also don't really have a spot in my that keeps to be filled right now I have
Roto grip no rules
Storm lock
Storm code black
Scandal pear
Dream big pearl
Primal fear
Roto grip deranged
Hectic
Pitch black right now my lock is getting close to dying so replacing it soon and I plan on picking up a supernatural it will probably take the place of my primal cause I just can't get it to work for me so any advice on what might fit with what I have or what's a good ball from the 4 to try out having never thrown from any of them

Re: Advice on a ball

If you are looking to replace the Lock, the Track Paradox Trilogy or Hammer Gauntlet would be options for something similar.

The Maverick solid would be another good choice if you want something slightly stronger than the Lock.

How is your pitch black getting close to dying? Its urethane?

Re: Advice on a ball

My pitch black isn't getting close to dying and what about the impulse solid I have the no rules as something stronger than my lock I was thinking that might be a good compliment

Re: Advice on a ball

The Impulse solid is a strong symmetrical ball. It would be a good compliment to your Scandal Pearl I would think.

I didn't say my pitch black is dying my lock is I plan to keep the pitch black and get a supernatural for when the lanes are completely burnt I couldn't really get my fear to ever work so it's going in the closet and supernatural is going in the bag after I get it

Re: Advice on a ball

Right now I have no rules as an early solid for when everything else goes straight so I'm looking for a solid with a strong back-end to replace the lock and compliment my no rules I've heard quite a few people say the mako is pretty angular anyone know how the mako compares to lock as far as shot shape and overall hook potential

Re: Advice on a ball

The Lock is a hybrid, but if you are looking for a strong solid the Mako will do the trick. Although I would put the Mako in the same category as the No Rules.

If you are looking for a compliment to the No Rules, I would lean more towards the Paradox Trilogy since it is a polished hybrid. It will tend to be more angular than the Mako when comparing both with an out of box finish. You could create angularity with the Mako by tweaking the cover, but not sure if that is something you are comfortable doing.

I have a ball spinner at my house so I have no problem changing surface and any suggestions on anything from the other ebi brands that would compliment a no rules

Re: Advice on a ball

I would look at a Mako, Maverick, or Maverick Pearl if you really want to replace the Lock.

You could potentially look at the Paradox Trilogy but I think you'd need to alter the surface some as it'd be closer to the Code Black

Re: Advice on a ball

I've been wanting to try the Scandal solid or the Gauntlet as an in-between from my Scandal Pearl to my Pitbull. I LOVE the Scandal pearl when the lanes are in transition, but not so much on the fresh. And the Pitbull is almost too much except for the oiliest of conditions. I'd never thrown a Hammer ball before the Scandal Pearl and came away extremely impressed. And you can't beat that 3 year warranty.
