Comparison help

Thinking of drilling my hy-road tomorrow(took me long enough to get one). I already have a Salute drilled 60x5 1/4x40. Is the Hy-road going to be similar with a similar layout or will it be able to handle less volume? I'm thinking around 65x5 1/4x35 or so. I don't quite want skid/flip but fairly close. I throw 14lbs and the numbers are quite different at 14. 2.52 .047 for the Salute and 2.58 .037 for the Hy-road.I'm looking for a little more length and the ability to use on more medium - medium light oil. The Salute rolls nice but is a little too strong for my area.

Re: Comparison help

Both are at box finish right now. They look very similar. My past Storm balls looked a bit shinier.

Re: Comparison help

Not a fan of Dual angles for symmetricals. The Drill angles (the first number) will change either a little or lot depending on the location of Thumb Hole and Weight hole.

For instance, 45 x 4 x 30 will probably turn out to be 90 x 4 x 30 before a weight hole is added since the mb that is made when you drill the thumb hole goes to the thumb hole. Find someone with a determinator, you will see what I mean.

Dual angles is great for symmetricals when you are trying to duplicate a drilling.

Focus more on pin to pap and posistion of the pin (above or below). That is why the inventor of Dual Angles does not even list DA for symmetricals on his symmetrical ball line.

Re: Comparison help

Surface is king.....
then pin-pap distance
core strength
then layouts
pin down - revs up slower
pin up revs up faster
back to surface, its the most important factor in today's game
