Lane#1 Retro Buzzsaw THS
Lane #1 goes old school with the new retro Buzzsaw THS. A powerhouse that dominates the typical house shot (THS), the Buzzsaw THS glides through the heads while maintaining a strong even arc off the dry boards, thus eliminating over-under reactions.
The retro power comes from Lane #1's dynamically shaped, patented diamond weight block that creates 20% more energy than any other shaped core. This all forgiving proven winner is wrapped around our famous BASF solid Bleeder coverstock, keeping the pins lower for more strikes.
The new retro Buzzsaw THS...
... GO OLD SCHOOL and DOMINATE the typical house shot.
P.S. Remember... Nothing cuts through pins better than a Buzzsaw..!! |

Re: Lane#1 Retro Buzzsaw THS
The THS for me does exactly as described. Play the outside around 5-7 and the ball has a smooth landing, gently arc right toward the pocket hitting with tremendous power. I have a stacked drill, 5/8 finger, 5/8 positive side and am a stroker. I haven't had a chance to use it in league play but will June 3 when our summer league starts up. I'll post more as I get to use it.

Re: Lane#1 Retro Buzzsaw THS
Just got mine punched up this week and tried it out in my Thurs doubles league. Stacked, pin slightly over ring.
Started with 10 out to 5 (LH) and ran off the front 9. I mean, this ball finds the pocket like it has eyes! And carries like a freakin' truck!
Around game 3, I started losing some reaction and carry. Moved to straight up 5 and ramped up the speed a little and DAMN! Packed shot after shot dead flush. Now, this house is notorious for quick changes and breakdown, and the THS goes clean through the heads, reads the mids perfectly, and arcs smoothly into the 1-2.
Final result: 279-238-247-247=1011!
Looking for a good benchmark ball for changing conditions? You need this ball! Between the THS and my BuzzBomb, I'm ready for just about anything.

Re: Lane#1 Retro Buzzsaw THS
As mentioned before the ball works really well for its design. Averaging about 18 pins higher after 2 weeks of using this ball on a THS condition. Ball is very predictable and carries like all Buzzsaws seem to do so well. After talking to Chuck, ball was drilled stacked with pin beside ring finger.

Re: Lane#1 Retro Buzzsaw THS
I have the ball drilled 5 1/8" pin to pap x 3" cg to pap with an xhole slightly above the midline. at first I absolutely hated the ball and was always changing surfaces but once I got enough oil it is awesome does what its supposed to do. I still dont use it on my house shot for me it works better on sport patterns it absolutely kills the pba and sport patterns watch for this one to make it on tv. if I cant score or dont have the look I want on the house shot then I go to this and I know I will be safe.

Re: Lane#1 Retro Buzzsaw THS
Drilled pin over ring finger and CG kicked out about 2-3". Slow/medium speed, medium revs. The ball performs as advertised. Smooth move to the pocket, good hitting power. Looks good and sounds good hitting the pins. At my house, it gets dirty pretty fast and needs continual cleaning, but that should be done anyway, right? Overall, a great go-to ball, and will probably be my first ball for a long time. 5 stars!

Re: Lane#1 Retro Buzzsaw THS
BALL SPECS
Ball Weight 14 lbs.
DRILL PATTERN
Label (see pics)
BOWLER STYLE
Medium revs/speed stroker
PICTURE AND VIDEO LINKS
see attached
SURFACE PREPARATION
OOB (1000 polished)
LANE CONDITION
toasted THS and fresh THS (both xmas tree)
BALL REACTION
Length long. Goes as long as my Storm T-Road Pearl
Back End not dramatic, but strong
Overall Hook medium
Midlane Read - excellent
Breakpoint Shape smooth, predictable arc. You can easily see the ball motion (skid, hook, roll) as it makes it's way down the lane.
COMMENTS
Carry - excellent
Likes The most smooth, predictable, and controllable ball I've ever thrown (reminds me of a rico-drilled ball). Can be used on anything from burnt to fresh THS to over/under conditions. You can hook it or throw it straight on any part of the lane. It will never over-react when it hits the dry, but throw it out there and it will make it back to the pocket.
Dislikes harder to keep clean than other balls
Other - ONE BALL TO RULE THEM ALL! Lane #1 designed this ball to dominate the typical house shot, and that it does. If you could only bring one ball with you to leagues or open play, this is the one you want.
After about a week playing around with the ball, I tried it on toasted lanes that hadn't been oiled since leagues the night before. Stood up next to the ball return, threw it over the 4th arrow, and watched it break smoothly into the pocket while other balls were flying brooklyn. After a few games they laid down some fresh oil so I moved right to 25 and threw it out over the second arrow, still getting that smooth pocket hit (with less angle). The ball does better with a little oil under it, but you can play the dry and not lose too much energy at the breakpoint.
I think the BJI review on this ball captures it perfectly (http://www.bowlersjournal.com/no_hol...article?id=170): The THS will hold when tugged into the heavier oil concentration in the middle of this condition, yet still roll heavy enough for excellent pin carry. When the bowler misses outside their target line, the THS will read friction, but not too early and not too strong. This area forgiveness and control will help bowlers master the dreaded wet/dry patterns common with most house conditions... The THS is a perfect example of when less is more.

Re: Lane#1 Retro Buzzsaw THS
I've been bowling with the THS for a little over a month now. Bought it here for $50. The lowest set I've shot with it was 695 ( bear in mind it isn't drilled for me,i haven't touched the cover, haven't changed out the inserts..only took a little out the thumb ).Quite simply, the THS is as good as anything I've ever bowled with and some nights I'd swear it's the best ball I've ever thrown. People may think it's a bit ugly or looks dated at 1st but after the set is done most want to know what it is. And what it is, is a helluva good bowling ball that often makes me look like I'm a much better bowler than I am.
