Post your Pyramid stories

Lets get the Pyramid forum up and going again. Share your stories/topics regarding Pyramid products. For the past 3 league sessions, i have had the front 9 in at least one game in each set. Its only a matter of time before the big 300 comes along again and only been throwing my new Pyramids for 2 weeks now.

Re: Post your Pyramid stories

A family member has one of the "OG" Chosen Path orange/smoke balls. It required constant surface refreshes every 6-9 games with a 2000 abralon pad. Otherwise, it would get lane shine really quickly and lose midlane traction. It has basically been retired and spends its days sitting in the garage. It could be an issue of the bowler not matching up with the ball, but in terms of surface maintenance others have commented the Pyramid balls require more attention than other brands.

Re: Post your Pyramid stories

My experiment with Pyramid is a fail. It's no fault of Pyramid. My wife bought me a Pathogen. The shop owner measured my hand and started drilling. He didn't discuss PAP. He didn't ask to see an already drilled ball. He drilled it 1/2 an inch long on the span, had to plug and redrill. It's the first ball that I have had drilled in ten plus years without a weight hole. When I roll the ball, it has a funky rotation right at release. I've rolled Lane One, Lord Field, Jet, Storm, and DV8 over the past few years, and none roll as awkwardly as the Pyramid. I do believe it was a pro shop issue and not a Pyramid issue though.

Re: Post your Pyramid stories

I have a friend who has a Blueprint. About half way through the season it lost it's reaction. He asked me to extract the oil out of it. Once I did that it lasted about 6 games and lost it's reaction again. He stopped throwing it.

Re: Post your Pyramid stories

I bought a Pathogen at the beginning of the season and it lasted maybe half way through the season before it just kind of died. Still haven't been able to get the reaction back, but before it died it was my first ball out of the bag. That being said, I'd still try another Pyramid ball, I loved the versatility of mine.

Looks that way, but no one is bashing, just offering honest experiences

Re: Post your Pyramid stories

I know this post is a bit old but I will resurrect it. I have been throwing Pyramid equipment the past two seasons and am surprised at how much performance you get out of them especially at the lower price point. I haven't had one die on me yet but I do rotate my equipment often.

My first Pyramid ball was the Pathogen X and it literally shocked me with how much it hooked when I got it. Since then I have gotten the Pathogen, Curse, Antidote, Chosen One, Path Rising, Force, and Blunt Force. My favorite out of all of them is by far the original Force. It is extremely smooth and carries very well.

Everyone throws the ball differently though and just because it works for me it may not work great for others. But there's always the people who will say that Pyramid is a bad brand because of the price point or the fact that they are made in China. I would say give them a try before you make your mind up that they aren't any good

Re: Post your Pyramid stories

I have been throwing the Pathogen exclusively since I received it a couple months ago. I love this ball. I bowl on mostly dry conditions and this sucker hooked way too much at first. I use it polished now and it moves and hits amazingly well. I am also interested in working through some more Pyramid balls. I am considering the curse, or Blueprint on the higher end and maybe even mess around with a Path Rising for fun. I don't have cash to burn so their prices are great for me!

Re: Post your Pyramid stories

Well my wife (LH) has had her ANTIDOTE for over 9 months. Ball drilled aggressive, had to add some polish to it and the ball still finishes strong. BTW we have been on hiatus from bowling over 7 years so started with a 13lb and it still carries very well. she usually bowls with a heavy 14lb. Based on this experience I going to say give them a try , you never know. her other equipment HAMMER ARSON HIGH FLAME
and ORIG QUANTUM RED.

Re: Post your Pyramid stories

I started using Pyramid balls in January of this year. The best I have done 798 with the Force.
I am 66 yr old and bowled that on a 5 man senior league. I have a few of them my Antidote has been playing great on no tap day 3 out of last 6 games 300. I have used them at Nats and the 40 frame game with good results. I started using them because of the price point and a firm belief that all of the company's put out good equipment, Save some money and score well.
