ISO of games to novice games to play during games

I joined a Co-Ed league so the wife can get out of the house, it is called a "The Bad Bowlers" League and trust me it lives up to the name. My wives co-worker bowled a 179 series last week.

Anyways, its not really fair to play poker during the game when I am getting 9-10 cards a game and the rest of the team is getting 1-3 cards a game. Last week we played Crazy 7's as that was the only game I could remember from my youth, The game was rather boring and I am searching for alternatives for beginners.

Any ideas?

Is there some unwritten rule that there has to be some sort of side game (usually poker) going on during league?

Sounds like this is one of those occasions when these side games are not needed. Or maybe they all get 2 cards for a fill and you get one? I have no idea, lol.

Have a minimum number of cards each player gets.

So if you get one card per mark, for a total maximum of 12, make the rule that everyone gets at least 7 cards, even if they don't get a single mark.

For Poker, You don't have to use marks to determine if someone gets to draw a card.

Just use count, say 7 or better on first ball (or for the whole frame) gets a card.
